Reading is fun

5/06/2006

This was also done for the children's magazine "Tricolor" issue 145 page 1

It's about the great influence we get from reading books and how we translate it in our imagination.

Since this is an extreemly wide subject, i didnt want to illustrate specific things, I wanted the reader (mostly children) try to figure out the story in theyr mind instead of follow some clues on the illustrator's point of view. So i painted a girl reading a book and from the book a fairy made from letters is coming out. In the print version the fairy is much more defined since the greens in CMYK tend to go to the dark side. (yeah, like StarWars)
